Author's Note :

Forgive me for the late update! The next update will be in a couple days!! Enjoy!

CHAPTER 11

ARE YOU GOING TO MODEL FOR LADIES LINGERIE NOW?

“What is this madness?”,the Knight guy hissed at the crowd. His next question was aimed at an unexpected person. He turned towards the towards the girl who was fighting with Jessica and asked, “You can’t go anywhere or do anything without being a bitch, can you?”

“Oh please! You can’t give up a chance to pose as the perfect hero who settles all the chaos, can you?”,the girl fired at him.

“I can’t argue with you.”, he said rubbing his temples gently. “Do me a favor and ask your friends to leave. You get home too before uncle gets involved in this mess.”

“Here peasant, I don’t need this shoe anymore. It’s my fault I came to the mall to buy this shoe. I should have known that poor people crawl all over this place. Let’s go girls!”, said the girl nearly shoving the shoe at Jessica’s face with a despised and gestured using her index finger commanding her friends to follow her.

SHE DID NOT DO THAT!!! What does she think of herself? That spoiled brat!! How dare she insult my friend in front of these people. Speaking of people, I noticed that the crowd disappeared when the Knight guy came in. But before I could slap that girl she moved away and Reshma shaking her head tugged at my arm telling me not to slap her and let it go.

Thinking that they were out of out earshot one of her friends asked, “But you wanted that shoe!? Why did you give it to her?”

“ I’ll meet the designer and get a new piece from his exclusive collection. Now shut up or I won’t get you that ear studs you asked.”, she answered flipping her hair and walking away.

“I am so sorry that she caused this much trouble for you. And I must apologize for her behavior toward your friend. Excuse me but I gotta go.”, said Knight and left the place following after the girl.

I looked down at myself and Reshma spoke out my exact thought, “What the hell just happened?”.

We have made fun of Jessica a lot of times and I know that she always takes everything in a sportive and funny way. But this, this is not fun. This is utter and pure humiliation. People in Greenville never humiliate anyone just for fun. This is cruel. I am afraid to even look at Jessi now. She is raging with anger and if one of us said even one wrong thing she may snap our head’s off. Literally.

It wasn’t easy to cool her off and with the mall security tailing us for ‘creating disturbance’ and behaving in an ‘anti-social’ way, it was extremely difficult for us to control her. The security repeatedly asked us to leave and got an earful from Jessi.

“I am supposed to leave like this?”, she said waving her hand at herself up and down. “Is this place supposed to Charlie and the Chocolate factory? Cause I’m not leaving this place covered in food. Let me clean myself and change into new clothes then leave you man-bear!!”

The security followed her when she entered into a shop to buy herself new clothes to which she said, “What? Are you going to model for ladies lingerie now? Is that it why you are following me? Just get lost! I know how to get out of this goddamn place!!”, and stomped her leg.

The security turned red in embarrassment, opened and closed his mouth a few times and left without saying another word.

I was enjoying watching the security squirm and smiled to myself. Only when Jhansi nudged me to go change my clothes did I remember that I too was covered in food.

I looked frantically searching for Jessi when Jhansi coolly replied, “She left for the restroom a long time ago.”

This must be the fastest time I have ever bought a shirt and dashed to the restroom which was on the other side of the mall. I was walking super-fast on that tile floor and that’s when my phone chose to ring. I was holding my new shirt and handbag in both my hands and was juggling with them to find my ringing phone.

That’s when I collided into a rock like chest and fell right on my butt.

CHAPTER 10

Author' note :

This is chapter 10! Oh and before I forget, delayed wishes for all the gorgeous ladies reading this post, Happy Women's day! Let our success make all the sound!

CHAPTER 10

YOU ARE MINE. AND MINE ALONE.

Jessica watched the pair of shoes like a hawk, like a lion would watch every movement of its prey she slowly treaded forward and in a neck breaking speed before any of us could notice, she turned around and grabbing Reshma’s hand she disappeared into the crowd.

“I thought I heard her shouting ‘You are mine. And mine alone.’  Gaah. She should belong to a barbaric tribe!”, exclaimed Jhnasi making me laugh.

Just when I started to talk my stomach growled in hungriness.

Jhansi just laughed, “Come lets go to the food court and get something to eat. It would take them a decade to come back anyway.”

After a few minutes we were returning to that shoe shop with Jhansi drinking her strawberry milkshake and I was holding my french-fries in one hand and the vanilla milkshake in the other, it seemed like Jessica was pulling something from someone.

It seemed like there was a fight going on and a crowd started to form around them. Some of them even started filming them, some even cheered ‘CAT FIGHT! CAT FIGHT!’.

            Everything was in chaos.
All I could think was, ‘We just came for shoe-shopping! What the hell is this?’

Only when we got a closer look at Jessica’s face we were able to see the nail scratches on both her hands. Her hair was flying all around, blood coming out from her hands and bruises started to form already. She was a total mess.

Reshma was trying to hold her back but in vain. Immediately we rushed to the place and heard their arguments clearly.

“It is mine, you pathetic blind creature, I took it first!”, shouted Jess at the girl fighting opposite her.

“Oh look at you peasant! The cost of your costume doesn’t  even compare with the cost of my headband! Let it go this instant!!”

“What will you do if I don’t give you this? Huh?”

“You will hear from my daddy and I will destroy you!”

By this time, me and Jhansi managed to reach the center of the crowd right infront of the fighting girls, one of them being my best friend.

Immediately Jhansi sprung into action and started asking people who were recording to stop.

I was just standing there helpless holding both the milkshakes and fries in both my hands looking back and forth at the two girls.

“Hey Resh! Do you wanna see a cry baby who cries to her daddy about all her problems? Well, here is one!”,Jess said pointing her finger at the opposite.

“What did you say?!? Lemme show you who is the cry baby bitch!!, the other girl said and grabbed the strawberry milkshake from my hand and poured it on my best friend.

“EWW!!!I hate strawberry!!!YOU!?!!”, shrieked Jess and grabbed the vanilla milkshake from my hands and swung the cup towards her. The other girl saw this coming and slapped the cup to her right side.

That is, right on me.

My hair, which I washed just a few hours ago was now dripping vanilla milkshake.

Without giving any second thoughts, my hand worked and in a matter of seconds, cheese and sauce was dripping from that girl’s head and her hair was beautifully decorated with French fries.

And before she could retaliate a loud bold voice interrupted us, “Stop this!”.

Everybody stopped moving and looked at the direction from where we heard the sound.

Jhansi was standing there with a familiar person.

Remember, the guy from The Diner ? Mr. Knight?

It was him.

There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a great competition and rivalry between the two. There is a third power stronger than both, that of the women.

CHAPTER 9

LET THE LORD HAVE MERCY ON US ALL.

*THIRD POV*

Jason was sitting on the sofa watching a football match when he heard his friends shouting and coming out from the kitchen. Anand was mumbling something about always a liar while Seb threw a juice bottle at him but he caught both the words and the bottle effortlessly.

“I swear you have ears of a wolf!”, exclaimed Anand.

“Well, what can I say, it’s a gift. Now, who was lying?”.

“Who other than our best friend Noah. When Seb and I asked whether he likes that new girl Jessica, he refused. But then when Seb asked for her number, he got territorial and refused to give.”.

“Dude! From the way you two were texting all night I had say you two would be madly in love within couple months.”, said Jason standing up and walked toward the door to attend his now ringing phone.

Jason could hear, ‘I told you so!’ and ‘No freaking way!’ in the background.

He went to the porch and spoke on his phone and after completing his call, he saw all the four girls from the neighbouring house getting on the car and driving away.

His mind started working. Early morning. All four them, in a car. He knew in that instant they were headed to the mall.

He smiled to himself and headed inside his house.

*******************************************

*RANINA POV CONTINUES*

It was a warm sunny day. The sun smiled upon us kissing our skins ever so lightly. The winds gushed past us whispering gossip tales. And under the clear bright sky, we laid, soaking up all the warmth. “There you girls are! I have been searching for you four since forever!”, complaining, my brother joined us too.

“Always the drama queen, Nate. We just left you half hour ago.”, replied my friend Reshma.

“So what? Hey Ray, are you ready for shoe shopping? I have been wanting to buy this cute shoes, wanna come with me?”, asked my brother.

What the hell!! My brother want to buy cute shoes?!?!What dimension am I living in?!!

“Ray! I’m gonna kill you now!!! Snap out of your day-dreaming mode this instant!”,someone shouted in my ears.

“Gahhh. My poor ears!”, I said covering them.

“I have been talking to you for the past 5 minutes ‘bout the new shoes I want to buy and you were day-dreaming!!!”, said an angry Jessica.

“Oh thank god, it was you talking then. I thought it was him.”, I replied swiping my forehand with the backside of my hand.

“Him who?”, enquired Reshma.

“I thought it was Nate speaking.”

All my friends broke out laughing. Even Jhansi who was driving hit the brake suddenly to laugh.

“Your – your brother – and cute shoes?!?”, said Reshma and broke out laughing. Again.

You would have known that I tend to day-dream. A lot. And my friends always wait for those moments like vulture to embarrass me whenever and wherever possible.

“Okay, Okay. Enough. We are here.”

The parking was almost full and we had to walk back a long way to reach the entrance of the mall. The mall was ginormous but also beautiful. The whole mall was decorated in Pirates of the Carribean  theme and there were people dressed as pirates welcoming us.

There were many small stores in that 5 storey mall and it took us all a long time to reach the shoe shop that Jessica wanted to go to.

And the scene that greeted us there was :
Two young girls of our age were fighting over a shoe with the salesman.

A group of ladies shouting at each other surrounding the high heels section.

A silent cold war going on between 2 friends to decide who should buy that single super-cute pair of pink shoes.

A group of little girls grabbing each other’s hair and trying to scold each other in words that were too big for them to pronounce.

A group of moms of the above said girl group, mimicking their daughters , minus the hair grabbing but swearing at each other with words their daughters cannot speak.
The sales girls scattered around all over their shop not knowing how to control the chaos and they were shouting among themselves in the noise.

The four of us saw this scene.

Three of us took two steps backwards.

Only one took a step forward, her eyes scanning through the shoe racks and then her eyes narrowed on one pair of green shoes.

Let the lord have mercy on us all. All I could say is that a devil is out in the form of Jessica Smith and that she is ready to face any battle to win that shoe.
